About
My path to becoming a therapist wasn't exactly a straight line. I was born in India and moved to Florida as a child. Navigating two different worlds gave me a deep appreciation for how culture, community, and our unique identities impact who we are.
I studied Biology at the University of Central Florida, fully convinced I was going to be a dentist. (Spoiler alert: Looking into people’s mouths wasn't my calling. Turns out I am way more interested in what’s going on inside your head than inside your molars!) This led me to earn my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UCF.
I am passionate about working with BIPOC college students and young adults. My ultimate goal is to help you deeply connect with yourself and others and to help you build a more meaningful, authentic life.
Outside of therapy, I love exploring the ever-expanding Central Florida area, cooking, baking, and getting creative with hands-on crafts like pottery. I also love cuddling with my dogs and spending quality time with my community!
Why Banyan?
I chose the name Banyan as a nod to my roots and my passion for community. Banyan trees are known for their vast, interconnected roots that expand to provide shelter and community. In our work together, my goal is to help you build that same kind of deep-rooted resilience, helping you feel grounded in who you are and connected to the world around you.
